چکیده
Background and Aims: Cholelithiasis is known to produce diverse histopathological changes in the gallbladder mucosa. In present study, we aimed find correlation between various gallstone characteristics (i.e., number, size, morphological type) with type of mucosal response mucosa inflammation, hyperplasia, metaplasia, carcinoma). Methods: The study was conducted prospectively on 250 patients undergoing cholecystectomy for symptomatic cholecystitis. Gallstones were assessed parameters, i.e., type. Gallbladder subjected examination. Sections taken from body, fundus, neck gallbladder. Results: Of cases, maximum mixed stones (54%) multiple number (46%). However, are non-significant variables precancerous lesions hyperplasia metaplasia). Statistically significant results obtained while comparing size (P = 0.012). Conclusion: As increases, cholecystitis, metaplasia carcinoma. Gallstone nonsignificant lesions.

Postprandial gall-bladder emptying in patients with gall stones.
Gall-bladder emptying in response to a standard meal was assessed in 34 patients with radiolucent gall stones and 34 matched controls. Percentage gall-bladder emptying, derived from volume measurements made on standardised oral cholecystography, was significantly higher at 15 minutes in the patients than the controls (mean +/- SE of mean 38.0 +/- 3.7% v 28.0 +/- 3.8%). This difference was maint...
متن کاملGall-bladder sensitivity to cholecystokinin in patients with gall stones.
Gall-bladder sensitivity to cholecystokinin (CCK) was determined by dynamic cholescintigraphy in 18 patients with radiolucent gall stones and 18 matched controls during an infusion of CCK in which the rate of infusion was increased. In 10 of the matched pairs the patient was more sensitive than the control, in one the control was more sensitive, and in seven no difference was detected (p = 0.01...
متن کاملEosinophilic Cholecystitis Associated with Papillary Hyperplasia of Gall Bladder
Eosinophilic cholecystitis (EC) is a rare entity that presents in a manner comparable to acute cholecystitis. The diagnosis is based on classical symptoms of cholecystitis with the presence of eosinophils (>90%) within the gallbladder. EC has been reported alone (idiopathic EC) or in combination with manifestations such as eosinophilic cholangitis, hypereosinophilic syndromes, and parasitic inf...
متن کاملTuberculosis of gall bladder without associated gall stones or cystic duct obstruction
Tuberculosis of the gall bladder, a rarity in itself, is always found associated with gallstones or cystic duct obstruction. The present case of tuberculosis of the gall bladder is being reported for its extreme rarity as it was without associated gallstones or cystic duct obstruction.
متن کاملThe gall of subordination: changes in gall bladder function associated with social stress.
Diverse physiological and behavioural mechanisms allow animals to effectively deal with stressors, but chronic activation of the stress axis can have severe consequences. We explored the effects of chronic social stress on agonistic behaviour and gall bladder function, a critical but widely neglected component of stress-induced gastrointestinal dysfunction. Prolonged cohabitation with dominant ...
